Canadian attitudes about the environment during COVID-19 (qualitative and quantitative briefing)

This summarizes results of a national survey conducted in Sept. 2020, and a second round of qualitative research (six focus groups with a fixed cohort of participants) that built on the survey. Among the findings is COVID-19 distracted people from the environment emergencies of climate change and biodiversity loss and Canadians did not draw many parallels between the health and environmental threats, though new opportunities for public engagement may exist.
